Canada-wide Landsat-based 30-m resolution product of disturbance detection prior to 1984 This is the final version of the pre-Canlad data product, covering Canada's forest disturbances between 1965 and 1984 Up to date dataset desciption and metadata can be found here: https://doi.org/10.23687/660b7c6a-cdec-4c02-90c7-d63e91825c42 Cartographic projection definition (WKT format) can be found in this file: _projectionDefinitionWKT_lcccan83.prj There are 3 layers: 1. canlad_1965_1984_disturbanceYear.tif Predicted fire/harvest year between 1965 and 1984. This is the result of a final post-processing step where we further corrected the FIRE years if: - predicted fire year was CONNECTED to a CORRECTED fire year within 5kms (same pixel patch) - the difference between predicted and corrected years was equalt to or less than 5 years - only fire was corrected 2. canlad_1965_1984_disturbanceType.tif Predicted disturbance type 1 = no change (false detection) 2 = fire 3 = harvest 4 = insect (no year available for insects) 3. canlad_1965_1984_correctionMask.tif Correction mask. The model predictions (disturbance type + disturbance year) were corrected with auxiliary data (mostly the CNFDB + provincial forest inventories) whenever this data was available. Only pixels where our models detected a disturbance were corrected (i.e. if predicted disturbance was 1 (no change) the disturbance was not corrected) 0 = no correction 1 = corrected fire 2 = corrected harvest Please cite this data product as: Correia, D.
